watercolor on paper, ca. 1905, 44 x 81 cm, on the back author's description: "ornaments partier[...]".
Provenance: collection of the artist's family.
Originally, the overall decoration of the meeting room of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry was to be handled by Stanisław Wyspiański, but due to his deteriorating health, he resigned and the commission was taken over by Józef Mehoffer. The interior decoration created by him in 1905-1907 is a quintessence of the artistic currents and tendencies of the era. To this day, it still impresses with its colorful and coherent combination of different genres of craftsmanship and art.
